Volume 1 (THB 1): The Hebrew Bible, editors Armin Lange and Emanuel Tov Volume 1 covers the books of the Hebrew canon. It comprises a series of overview articles (vol. 1A) as well as detailed entries on the primary and secondary translations of the biblical text (vol. 1B and 1C). Vol. 1C concludes with a series of articles on the biblical text as attested in the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, Josephus, Philo, Rabbinic Literature, the New Testament, and early Christian literature. The THB 1 print version will comprise of a total of 353 articles, nearly 2000 pages, presented in three volumes. For each textual version 15 area editors, who are highly recognized specialists in their field, have invited contributions from 120 authors.
